About Us

Michele’s passion for jewelry stems from her close relationship with a long-time family friend who was a gifted jeweler. She met him when she was six years old, and by the age of ten, Michele learned to set up jewelry display cases, answer customer questions and lovingly care for jewelry; she was hooked. For her work in the jewelry store, Michele asked to be paid in jewelry instead of money. Michele fondly remembers those days working for this artist of pure genius and an extraordinary man.

During her formative years, Michele was strongly influenced by another luminary in her life, her grandmother, Juanita. Michele remembers her grandmother’s natural beauty, vivacity, charm, wit, and also her storied pieces of fine jewelry. Michele’s grandmother wore her jewelry with style and pride. Michele remembers her grandmother was most fond of the infinity motif and pink gold because it meant that something is never ending, lasts forever and survives to infinity. Michele affectionately pays tribute to her grandmother by incorporating the infinity symbol in the Tichel Jewels logo and jewelry designs. Like her grandmother, Michele looks at jewelry as something truly special that will live through time.

It is obvious that Michele’s love of jewelry was not a passing fancy — it was to become a life’s work. To that end, Michele earned her GIA designation.

Michele shares her love of fine jewelry by creating pieces that are personal and distinctive, yet hip and daring with a classy edge. She taps into her unbridled imagination and inherent sense of style. She designs pieces that can be worn every day and for any occasion — even black tie events.  She stays current with jewelry trends but doesn’t let it confine her creativity.

Gifts of jewelry are always appropriate. Michele loves to give and receive gifts of jewelry for all occasions. Her husband, Jeff, is an avid supporter of Michele’s entrepreneurial visions, and Michele’s daughter, Tomilee, is also an important driver for Tichel Jewels. Her name was melded with her mother’s name to become Tichel Jewels, but it doesn’t stop there. Michele’s love for her Tomilee transcends the moment and endures “to infinity and beyond . . .”
